As I looked at the master list last night I felt eager for a challenge. After feeling the differences in just how drinking more water was effecting me I decided to stay along with the theme of changing over my liquid diet for week three. I knew I was heading back to Blacksburg this week and would be spending time catching up with friends and roommates that I hadn't seen for close to a month. I also knew that I was coming home to Richards most recent purchase from a cruise. (Yes, that bottle says 3 liters)
I also knew it was time to buckle down on training for the upcoming Mt. Cheaha 50k race. There will be no time for dehydration, headaches and hangovers. I've tried this one before and I may or may not still owe my friend Kim a dinner at the Melting Pot from a bet we made years ago. All past propositions aside, it is on again and there will be plenty of people to call me out if I fail. No more liquor for the rest of 2014. Goodbye ABC and let the games begin . . .
End of Week 3 Update
As I imagined coming back to Blacksburg during week three was a bit challenging. Reuniting with friends and trying to politely turn down free shots was a bit tricky but I stuck to my resolutions and also got in a 34 mile run as a good start to training for the Cheaha 50k. The funnest part of the week came with a challenge from my friend and fellow heavy water drinker Andrew Dunlap. Could we do a gallon of water in a day? The answer was yes. 201 ounces was the final tally and I now see why some people drink water to lose weight. I didn't eat anything barely that whole day as my stomach was tricked into feeling full from water. However, I would think it would be healthier drinking juices instead of water for that task so you can still get your nutrients and vitamins! The positive outcome from the extreme water day was that it sure does make the normal 2 liters (67 ounces) seem like a piece of cake every day now. On to week 3!
Soda - 0 ounces
Water - 8.45 Gallons
Liquor - 0 shots
